We are passionate about the value that Learning and Development professionals can bring to organisations. Our experience is that many organisations are still to develop the HR and Learning and Development professionals who have the confidence and skills to fulfil a role that has changed significantly in the past 10 years. In particular, the impact of technology on learning processes, and on the expectations of employees about the ways in which they should be able to learn, requires a new skill-set to manage. Technology also allows Learning and Development teams to focus less effort on administration - but this in itself creates a challenge about how to be more strategic, advisory and a partner to the business.
Know-how around education and delivery of training is no longer enough, great Learning and Development professionals must understand their internal customer’s needs and challenges and influence them to do the right things, advise on appropriate use of technology, and continually look to improve the performance of their functions to become value-adding business units in their own right.
Using our experience of working with many HR and Learning and Development professionals in the Public and Private sectors we have developed a range of development programmes in partnership with Oxford Strategic Development. We have taken the critical essentials and combined them into a challenging and enjoyable development experience. As business people who have moved into the Learning and Development field we bring valuable experiences from both sides of the fence!
The programme allows participants to work on real implementation challenges in a supportive and confidential environment. Participants leave the programme with clear strategies and actions that will drive their current initiatives along with tools and techniques to help them develop close and valued relationships with the business.
As a result of attending this programme participants will be able to:
- Comfortably and confidently demonstrate their contribution to the organisation.
- Understand strategy and organisational politics and use networks to gain buy-in and support for initiatives.
- Develop their understanding of their internal customer’s situations by using strategic analysis tools.
- Effectively align and evaluate interventions for demonstrable results.
- Develop a reputation for being comfortable with technology to help solve organisational problems.
- Develop their own leadership style to ensure they can get people to deliver.
- Use personal sources of power to prepare for challenging interactions.
- Adapt their communication style to successfully influence their customers.
- Recognise effective internal marketing strategies to promote value adding services.
- Focus on measures that matter.
