    AT-Learning Workshops

We have launched a series of workshops to help ensure organisations realise the whole range of benefits that AT-Learning can bring, these include:

How to Effectively Roll Out Self Service Workshop

AT-Learning is often initially implemented as a centrally administered learning management system within an organisation. Although a number of benefits can be realised from this approach, additional benefits can be leveraged by rolling out direct access to the system to Training Providers, Trainers, Managers and Staff, both within the organisation and externally. Self Service will bring significant cultural and procedural change within NHS organisations, however by rolling out AT-Learning it will help central learning and development functions to become specialist teams and not just a centralised administration function. Additional benefits of rolling out Self Service access to AT-Learning include:

    • Development of more efficient / optimal processes.
    • Making Training Providers accountable for their own activities and schedules along with reviewing bookings to ensure activities are run with the required numbers will increase the cost efficiency of training. This is facilitated by the use of key system reports.
    • Allowing Trainers access to the system to create their own attendance lists, mark attendance and record performance following training will increase the accuracy of data and the increase the speed and availability of information to the organisation.
    • Managers will take more responsibility for their staff's learning and development and ensure activities undertaken are in line with the requirements of their post and individual development needs.
    • Allowing staff to book directly on training activities will empower them to manage their own learning and development; whilst manager approval processes will ensure that development is appropriate.
    • AT-Learning's integration with the e-KSF via the Personal Development Plan (PDP) will have a positive impact on the percentage of staff undertaking their annual KSF Development Review if staff use the e-KSF PDP to book onto learning and development activities.
    • Self Service processes will help to initiate a learning culture within the organisation.
    • By redefining processes within the Learning and Development function valuable administration time can be saved and utilised for more value adding activities.

Within the workshop we will help you to create a tangible project and communication plan for the roll out of Self Service within your organisation and explore the key activities required to make this project a success.

    Streamlining Your Learning Processes Workshop

We understand that key elements of a Learning and Development teams work are based around standard ways of doing things - standard booking processes, reporting processes, supplier management processes etc. We also understand that there are key drivers to use technology to streamline these processes and there can be a difference between the way that IT systems do things, and the way that Learning and Development leaders see things working. If you identify with the following comments, then this workshop will be of significant benefit to you:

    • "We seem to have five different ways of doing the same thing."
    • "We spend lots of time on creating a "work-around" because the systems don't do things the way we need them to."
    • "When someone new starts, it takes a long time to explain how we do things."
    • "Lots of different people seem to get involved before we can finish things."
    • "We think we could be more efficient in our tasks."

Following the initial implementation of any Learning Management System within an organisation, including AT-Learning, there can be significant benefit realised from reviewing the processes within the Learning and Development function in line with the systems processes and skills / competencies of the team. This is relevant if there is intent to roll out Self Service or retain a centrally administered system.

The purpose of this workshop is to review the current learning and development processes within an organisation and help to define the move to more process efficient ways of working, by ensuring duplications are identified and removed from workflows.

Using AT-Learning for Risk Reporting and Achieving Compliance with NHSLA Audit

The management of organisational and individual risk through compliance to statutory and mandatory training standards is a focus within all Learning and Development teams. Annual reporting to the NHSLA and the financial benefits to be gained from reduced insurance premiums are one of the key drivers behind the implementation of learning management systems and specifically AT-Learning within the NHS.

The AT-Learning Development Team ensure the tool is updated and developed in line with not only individual user needs but also national reporting requirements such as the NHSLA and NCRS to facilitate this process. However there is specific functionality within the system that must be utilised to drive these reports so the purpose of the workshop is not only to provide you with information on how your organisation is currently performing but also how to use the system to maximise the efficiency of processes and minimise organisational risk .

Within the standard three day training plan delivered as part of all AT-Learning deployments we cover the key aspects of system reporting, however additional benefit can be realised by running an additional one day workshop with more focus on the content of specific reports following extended use of the system.

Making the Most of System Functionality Workshop

To build on the three core days of AT-Learning training run as part of the core systems implementation many organisations decide to run additional training on some of the more advanced functionality and processes available on the tool so that they can work towards realising additional benefits. All of these functions and processes are intuitive on the tool, however some organisations have found having a day of focused time with their Account Manager useful in learning more about functions not adopted as part of the initial implementation or to discuss how to embed new or streamlined processes.

This additional systems training will include a review of what functions are being used, what appears to be working well and what processes potentially need more support. We will discuss with you which functions would be most useful to cover in the workshop.

    AT-Learning e-learning Administration Training

This one day workshop has been designed to give e-learning Administrators and e-learning Leads an in-depth understanding of the administrative functions required to set up and manage e‑learning activities within AT-Learning. The workshop has been designed to be a highly interactive ‘hands on’ training day with each delegate having access to their own PC.
